I like the move. Mostly cuz i saw that video of okafor knockin that guy out on street. And okafor looked like a thug. Pants hangin off butt. And that was enough to drop him from me ever wanting him. Good character is the most important thing when scouting in my eyes. Nothing is more important than good character. And jerry colangelo knows that. Good to see there changing their thinking. Not sure bout noel. But i would want his length on my squad.</p>

Still cant believe warriors won that game. Okc let that one get away. Game 7 is gonna be a doozy. Warriors got to be the favs though. I think klay is a better shooter than steph. Cleveland Cavaliers guard Daniel Gibson surrendered to authorities Monday on
charges that he allegedly broke a man's jaw at a club in New Orleans in early
July. Gibson, 27, husband of R&B singer Keyshia Cole was booked with
second-degree battery, according to an Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office.<br />
The incident occurred July 8 at a club in the 300 block of Andrew Higgins Street
in New Orleans, according to court records. Gibson and Cole walked by the man,
who allegedly thanked Cole for "keeping it real." <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Cole had recently performed at the Essence
Festival in New Orleans.<br />
The man then turned to tell a friend something, and Gibson allegedly punched
the man in the jaw, court records said. Bystanders restrained Gibson while the
victim was escorted out of the club.<br />
The man was taken to a local hospital, where doctors determined his jaw had
been fractured, court records said. The victim later identified Gibson as his
attacker in a photograph line-up.<br />

<div class="m-entry__body">
<div class="has-dropcap">
Rumblings began to crop up late last night about the Indiana Pacers making a trade for Phoenix SunsPF Luis Scola,
and it took the better part of the next day to get the deal finalized
and the terms of the deal complete. The Pacers acquired Scola, the 33-year-old Argentine star who has had successful stints with Houston and Phoenix for Gerald Green, their 2012 first round pick Miles Plumlee, and a lottery protected first round pick in 2014, the protection
sheltering the Pacers in the event everything that can go wrong does.</div>
The move will not only give the Pacers additional cap flexibility for next summer with extensions for Paul George and Lance Stephenson,
looming, but will improve their chances this year with Scola. Larry
Bird was quoted on Pacers.com, saying, "Luis will be a very important
asset to our team and to our bench." Scola will rejoin a revamped bench
with C.J. Watson and Chris Copeland, as well a hopeful return to form for Danny Granger and a bright draft pick in Solomon Hill.<a class="sbn-auto-link" href="http://www.sbnation.com/nba/players/198467/solomon-hill"> </a><br />
Acquiring Scola is maybe the best move the Pacers have put together
this offseason. Scola is excited to be a valuable piece on a
championship contender and SB Nation's Tom Ziller believes this could be
the move that puts the Pacers over the top in the east. But there's a lingering cough from Indiana's bench revamp last year
that might cause a brief pause. So why are this year's moves better?
Last year, the Pacers' additions were going to be excellent pieces for
Indiana's success <i>if:</i> <i>If</i> Green can replicate his performance in New Jersey. <i>If</i>
Augustin can be a Darren Collison-like acquisition with improved
passing. This year, the additions are going to be excellent pieces <i>because</i>.
With the exception of Copeland, Indiana swung for proven guys on good
teams like Watson and Scola (and found an all-too obvious emergency
upgrade with Donald Sloan).<br />
Was it a high price to pay for Scola? When taking into account the
cap implications of not having to pay Green and a future first rounder,
then no. Scola's non-guaranteed deal in 2014-15 helps the matter even more because now the Pacers are in a
greater position to retain their core beyond Paul George while not
giving up any chance of winning now. The move to shore up Indiana's 2014
bench should also give Indiana a more realistic shot at landing at the
top of the Eastern Conference, something the team will be searching for
in order to get their potential Game 7's in Indianapolis. Of course, the
Pacers won't be without their competition in an increasingly top heavy
Eastern Conference, but there's no reason to believe Indiana can't beat
any of them anymore.<br />

If the Bulls are unable to acquire Camby, another potential option is Dejuan Blair.
The former Spurs reserve is looking for a multi-year deal or a possible
sign-and-trade from San Antonio, but he may have to settle for a
one-year deal at the minimum. Chicago could offer such a deal.<br />
The Clippers are another team who have expressed interest in Blair and they also can only offer the minimum.</div>

May 29 (Reuters) - The Charlotte Bobcats named longtime NBA assistant
coach Steve Clifford as their head coach on Wednesday with hopes he can
spark a turnaround in a franchise that has endured a string of woeful
seasons.<br /><br /> Clifford, a veteran of 13 NBA seasons as
an assistant coach, most recently with the Los Angeles Lakers, takes
over from Mike Dunlap, who was fired in April after finishing his first
season with a 21-61 record that was second-worst in the NBA.<br /><br />
<br />
"He brings a strong pedigree and
a track record of success to our franchise," Rod Higgins, head of
basketball operations for the Bobcats, said in a statement.<br /><br />
"He has built a reputation as an innovator, especially
defensively, and has experience in multiple systems. We look forward to
utilizing his knowledge as we continue to build this team."<br /><br />
Before joining the Lakers last season, Clifford spent five
seasons as an assistant coach under Stan Van Gundy with the Orlando
Magic, who compiled a 259-135 record and five straight playoff
appearances, including a trip to the 2009 NBA Finals.<br /><br />
Prior to that, Clifford worked four seasons with the Houston Rockets
as an assistant to Jeff Van Gundy after serving as an advance scout and
assistant coach with the New York Knicks.<br /><br /> His first
NBA head coaching job presents a big challenge as he takes over a team
that has had just one winning season since joining the NBA in 2004.<br /><br />
In the lockout-shortened 2011-12 season the Bobcats went a
woeful 7-59, which marked the worst winning percentage ever in NBA
history. (Reporting by Larry Fine in New York; Editing by Frank

Roy
Hibbert finished with 23 points and 12 rebounds, Lance Stephenson added
20 points, and the host Indiana Pacers closed the game on a 16-6 run to
pull away from the defending NBA champs for a 99-92 victory on Tuesday
night. </div>
Just like that, the Eastern Conference finals are tied at 2 and the pressure has swung back to Miami. <br />
"We're
never going to give up. We're relentless," Hibbert said. "All those
guys in there, they believe we can win. No matter what all the analysts
or whoever says anything, they count us out, those guys in the locker
room were ready to play and we went out and played our hearts out." <br />
Hibbert will get no argument from coach Frank Vogel, who challenged his team to bring it or go down swinging.<br />
Indiana scored with punch after punch. <br />
The
Pacers revved up the crowd with an opening 11-0 run, got the Heat in
foul trouble and answered every challenge Miami posed in a physical game
that had bodies flying, tempers flaring and LeBron James stunned after
fouling out of a playoff game for only the second time in his career.<br />
Indiana
players promised to treat Game 4 as if they were playing a decisive
seventh game, and it showed. Paul George uncharacteristically smacked
the floor after being called for a foul in the third quarter, leading to
a technical foul on Vogel that seemed to get Indiana refocused. The
defense continually contested shots by James and his high-scoring
teammates. The four-time MVP finished<br />
<div class="articleEmbeddedAdBox" style="width: 336px;">
<hr class="articleAdRule" />
</div>
with 24 points but was only 8 of
18 from the field. And Indiana reverted to its more typical style,
holding a 49-30 rebounding advantage and outscoring Miami 50-32 in the
paint. The Heat now faces a stunning must-win scenario
Thursday night in Game 5 or come back to Indy for Game 6 fighting for
their playoff lives. Over the next 48 hours, the Heat will try to figure
out what went wrong in a game full of oddities. <br />
Chris Bosh
crashed to the court clutching his right knee after a first-half
collision. In the second half, he limped to the locker room after
appearing to twist his right ankle on a foul call but returned a few
minutes later trying to shake off the injury. Dwyane Wade limped
noticeably during the first half and wound up in foul trouble, too. <br />
Miami's
three All-Stars were a dismal 14 of 39 from the field, even though
James spent part of the night being defended by Stephenson because of
George's foul trouble. Bosh finished with seven points, Wade with 16 and
no Miami starter had more than six rebounds.<br />

Man there was some good NBA games tonight. Love to see the Bulls beat the Heat. Absolutely love it. The Heat are not that good. I would rather have Steph Curry over Lebron! And who needs Derrick Rose when you have Nate Robinson. Even if Rose came and said I want to play now, the Bulls should say naw we are good, keep sitting. Derrick Rose is a putz. Ever since I watched the NBA all star weekend a couple years ago and he was in the Skills challenge. Each NBA player in the challenge had a little kid they were playing for and the NBA player that won got a 50,000 dollar scholarship for their kid. And Derrick Rose was just going through the motions. I could not believe how he appeared to not even be trying. I was like come on dude, at least try. Ever since then I have been not a big fan of Rose. I think all he thinks about is himself. I mean look at Nate Robinson. The past few games he has been playin sick and tonight he got six stitches. Teams are going to play according to the feel of the team. And with Rose the team don't feel to good. Love the Bulls without Rose. Also Love the Spurs and the Warriors! Great night of hoops!!!</div>

OKC has no fire power without Russell Westbrook. Kevin Martin sucks. He has the ugliest shot in the game and it is so slow. Kevin Durant is Kevin Durant but he benefits greatly from Westbrook. I seriously think Scottie Brooks should be isolating Nick Collison. I think Collison has game, he just always has deferred his whole career. I just think Westbrook always got the blame. The bottom line is he is the best point guard in the game. I think his game is not what it could be if he didn't have a Durant on his team. Durant should be getting the majority of the shots. But Westbrooks mid range pull up is unstoppable!! </div>

The playoffs are secure, a No. 6 seed is not quite so certain.<br />
And suddenly neither is the status of center Andrew Bogut, who
aggravated a sprained left ankle in the first quarter Thursday night and
did not return in the Warriors’ 116-97 loss to Oklahoma City.<br />
Bogut, who had microfracture surgery on the same ankle late last
April, suffered the sprain in Tuesday’s playoff-clinching victory over
Minnesota, according to a team spokesperson.<br />
He aggravated it Thursday and exited the game with 2:55 left in the
first quarter. He went to the locker room for the remainder of the
night. It was not immediately clear whether his removal from the game
was precautionary or indicative of something more serious.<br />

I am a big fan of basketball. Have played it all my life. I could shoot by myself for ever. ( As long as I have a rebounder). But I find myself disliking the NBA more and more. The fact we have to watch the same stupid teams on National television. I am getting sick of watching Dwight Howard miss three throws. I would way rather have Pau Gasol! If the Lakers never got Dwight Howard they would be a contender and that is a guarantee! All they needed was Nash. I also am feed up with everybody always covering and talking about the Lakers. ( I guess i am doing it to), it is like the league is appeasing the women fans. Not true basketball fans. Another thing that annoys me is Colin Cowherd. I used to kinda like the guy. Still kinda do. He is good with analogies and does make some good points. But they way he is in love with Lebron just makes me want to shut the radio off. The only people he lets call in to his show agree with him. Have some balls and let people call in that disagree with you. Jordan was better than Lebron. PERIOD. Also did you see All Star weekend? If you did you saw Dwayne Wade wearing Leather pants with a suit coat. What is with the leather pants? Do they think that looks good? Kevin Durant with a bunch of plastic balls on his shirt. Russell Westbrook wearing glasses with no lenses. These guys are dorks. Dwight Howard is the biggest dork of all. All these guys are not likeable. Kevin Durant used to be the good guy. I just heard a clip where he said when the clock is running down he might take another dribble before launching a 3/4 court shot, so he gets it off after the clock expires. Just to save his field goal percentage. Are you freaking serious? The NBA is just not as likeable as it used to be. </div>

I am so sick of watching the same teams play on National Television. It is ridiculous!! I am a big fan of basketball but I find my self not wanting to watch basketball. You can only watch so many Miami Heat games. You can only watch so many Laker games. The Lakers are not even good. It is like the NBA is appeasing the woman fans. Basketball fans don't want to watch the same players every night. I know how Lebron and D Wade play. I want to see other players. They are only hurting the game. It is a joke!! And have you ever heard the TNT crew call a game. Sometimes it seems like they don't know their on air. I enjoy them sometime but sometimes they are very annoying!! All I am saying is I would much rather watch a Toronto Raptors vs Minnesota Timberwolves. I would much rather watch players like Luke Ridnour, Ricky Rubio, Rudy Gay, Dion Waiters, etc. I am sick of watching the HEAT!! I am sick of watching Dwight Howard brick free throws!!!! I am sick of watching Steve Nash being a follower and having no confidence and just bow down to Kobe and company. </div>

For the 21st time in his career, the guy wearing No. 21 for the Spurs is the Western Conference Player of the Week.<br />
Tim Duncan took home his first such award in almost three years
Monday after a week in which he posted three double-doubles and averaged
22 points, 12.8 rebounds, three assists and 1.25 blocks as the Spurs
went 3-1.<br />
Duncan opened last week with a string of three consecutive games of
at least 20 points and 10 rebounds, his first such streak since Nov.
23-27, 2009, not coincidentally the last time he was named a conference
player of the week.<br />
“At 36, it’s tough to play like that,” said Parker, at 30 the
youngest of the Spurs’ Big Three. “At the same time, he works hard and
takes care of his body. He’s making sure he eats well and keeps his
knees healthy. So far, it’s looking good.”</div>

Lakers coach Mike D’Antoni said his team won’t realize its potential
until point guard Steve Nash returns from a hairline fibula fracture,
perhaps as early as next week.<br />
What will Nash’s return mean for Bryant?<br />
“I’ll be scoring a lot more,” Bryant said. “I don’t have the
facilitate as much. Everybody can kind of go to their natural positions.
It enables me to do what I do best, which is to put the ball in the
hole.”<br />
<br />
<span style="color: red;">NBA BEATS - </span>I agree. In my opinion that is all the Lakers needed to do in the off season and they did it. But then they go and get Dwight Howard? Why? You already have Pau Gasol. I would rather have Pau Gasol. Sometimes less is more. All they needed was a Steve Nash and yes he will do wonders for Kobe. Kobe can play stress free now. That was until you brought in Dwight Howard. Now Kobe has to worry about keeping this his team and scoring here and there. Great move bringing in Nash. Horrible move bringing in Howard.</div>

Shumpert told The Post recently his target date for return is January,
not December. The former Georgia Tech guard will be a dynamo to aid the
Knicks’ on-the-ball defense and take pressure off Brewer. Before
suffering a torn ACL, Shumpert was among the best perimeter defenders in
basketball in his rookie season.</div>

The Sixers acquired Andrew Bynum from the Los Angeles Lakers in a
four-team trade this past offseason in which they also shipped All-Star
forward Andre Iguodala to the Denver Nuggets. DiLeo says Bynum’s knee
problems have worsened since the mega deal.<br />
“His knees now and the MRIs are not the same; it’s a different type
(of) situation,” DiLeo added. “At the time of the trade, we had four
doctors look at his MRI; we knew it was a calculated risk. We also knew
we were getting the second-best center in the league, a franchise-type
player. We took that risk.”<br />
Bynum was expected to assume a major role in head coach Doug Collins’
lineup this season, with the belief he could continue developing into a
franchise player.<br />
With Bynum on the shelf indefinitely it is possible the Sixers look
to add a veteran big man for additional depth. Two options are Eddy
Curry, who played earlier this season with the Dallas Mavericks, and
veteran forward Kenyon Martin who has been actively lobbying for another
opportunity in the league.</div>
